My desire is to see the emancipation of women at every level of development to enable them contribute and benefit from social economic progress of the country. Women’s vital role in promoting peace must be acknowledge.
And to do this they must be empowered politically and critically assessing and identifying solutions for the betterment of society".

A paraphrase speech by  a courageous, aesthetic, an intelligentsia, an woman of dignity with a lucent demeanor, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings.

~Former First Lady of Ghana, under the regime of Ex-President Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings
~Founder of National Democratic Party.

~First woman to run for president of Ghana in 2016.

~She is the president of the 31st December Women Movement from 1982 till date, a non-governmental organization that aspires to empower women.

~Former Vice - Chairman of NDC in 2009.
Asante Dehyee, born to Mr. and Mrs. Agyemang.

She grew up in a family where education was their biggest priority that other people were not patronizing education that much.

Her mother and Grand Aunt, Ohemaa Konadu who she was named after are her biggest source of inspiration.
She took education as a primary concern in her own life, taken after the lead of her parents.

She had her secondary education at Achimota School, where her love journey begun with the Ex-president, Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, Paapa J.

She then proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to read an Art Degree in Textile.

In KNUST, she was elected as the Secretary of Africa Hall in 1969.

She was then again served as member of the KNUST SRC with the late P.V Obeng, Former Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, and again elected as Assistant Secretary in 1971 to serve under KNUST SRC.

A woman who cherishes her culture and tradition from which a society derives its identity. To her husband: She’s fundamental and a revolution of Ghana’s economy and his childhood sweetheart.

To her children: She is strict, principled and a go-getter.

To me: She has the act features that is attitude, skill and knowledge. The times when her husband wasn’t home to turn the children with her, she didn’t make herself look pitiful, she didn’t become a victim to the circumstances but rather she stood and dealt with the situation like a man. She became a father and mother to her children.
She liberated herself from her own fears and automatically her presence liberated others from their fears.

The first time I saw this woman, I was mesmerized and captivated by the uniqueness, power and strength of a woman who has devoted her time to her country,.....👉
...not just for her generation but for the future generation. She preaches the philosophy of “There can be miracles” when you believed.

She is the embodiment of wisdom empowering her nation and her generation one woman at a time.

Madam you are a heroine.
You are a mentor.
You are the living evidence of the skies never the limit irrespective of your gender.

A woman who believes that the women are the neck and it is the neck that controls the movement of the head, thus the man, should tell you caliber of woman she is.
You set a standard for every woman across Ghana to emulate.
